Cancun
Chichen Itza Archeological site: One of the largest sites in Mexico. This site was actually two cities: One ruled by the Mayas, the other Toltec-Mayan city. See the Sacred Wall along with many other structures.
Eco Caribe Turtle Hatchery: The hatchery is a breeding center to hundreds of these turtles from infants to adults. Visitors will learn the sea turtles of Cancun are an important symbol of Mexican identity.
Caves of Balankanche: Visitors are led through narrow passage ways to a beautiful grotto of underground pools. These pools were a sacred source of fresh water and an important place of worship for the Mayas and the Toltec civilization.
Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve: Sian Ka'an covers over a million acres nature reserve, made up of about one-third wetlands, one-third tropical forest and one-third marine systems. The reserve maintains ecological diversity and provides the native population with agricultural and ecological opportunities to make a living.
National Institute of Anthropology and History: Located on the ground floor of the city's convention center, this museum traces the Maya culture and features a collection of 1,000 to 1,500-year-old artifacts. Visitors will see carvings and frescoes, and ancient artifacts that have been unearthed at nearby sites.
Los Cabos
The Arch of Poseidon: The symbol of Baja California Sur. During low tide, visitors can walk through the passageway. View many rock formations carved into fantastic shapes by wind and sea.
El Faro Viejo Lighthouse:A spectacular view from 500 feet above sea level. The lighthouse was built in 1890 with very few remains. Below you will find remains of a shipwreck. Turtles use beach below to lay their eggs.
San Jose del Cabo / Cabo San Lucas: Streets lined with ornate brick worked buildings, charming courtyards. Visit Iglesia de San Jose's twin steeples, the 18th century Jesuit mission, Mission Viejo and the museum of Mexican arts and crafts.
La Candelaria:The old village of Candelaria was the center of ancient practices of witchcraft and is known for the abundance of exotic palms, bamboo and mango trees.
Nuevo Vallarta
Just a few miles up the coast from Puerto Vallarta, Nuevo Vallarta offers travelers a choice of elegant hotels and resorts on the sun-drenched beaches of Banderas bay. Cozumel
